Welcome to Scoil Mhuire Girls' National School, Lucan, Co. Dublin.

We are a girls Catholic Primary School is St. Mary's Parish, catering for children ranging in age from 4 to 12 years. There are 650 children in our school in classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.

There are 31 teaching staff and an administrative principal. Support staff includes a secretary, caretaker, special needs assistants and cleaning staff.

Ericsson Science Competition

Well done to Ms Ward's 4th Class who won the Eastern Regional Final of the Ericsson Science Competition held in Tallaght Institute of Technology on Thursday the 23rd of February. Their project involved a study of the Earthworm. Pictured here representing the class were Aedín O'Kane, Carmen Trefas, Georgia Wall and Gráinne Slattery. Good luck girls, in The national final of the competition being held in Athlone Institute of Technology on the 15th March.

Past pupil Jenny Ní Dhoibhilín is teaching recorder to third class.Jenny is a member of The Lucan Concert Band. At Christmas she organised a recorder performance by her 3rd class pupils from St Mary's Boys' NS and Scoil Mhuire GNS in Westmanstown.The children played as a group and also got the opportunity to play with Lucan Concert Band. Proceeds from the concert were shared between both Primary Schools.







Zoe and Áine who were part of the Precision Display Squad from the Clondalkin Gymnastics Club that took part in the City of Leeds Gymfest in January. 40 teams of 750 Gymnasts travelled from all over England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales to take part. Zoe was selected also to represent Ireland in the next Celtic Cup taking place in March 2012 in Switzerland.
